NVLS has opened its registration for coaches. ALL coaches must be registered with the league on or before 12/15/23.  USA Lacrosse – Level I Certification requirements and other league requirements MUST be completed by 2/1/24.  All head coaches and assistant coaches will need to have their USA Lacrosse – Level 1 Coaching Certification for the 2024 season.

ALL coaches must have their USA Lacrosse - Level I Certification to coach in NVLS (see below for Level I Certification Requirements). 

1. USA Lacrosse Membership – Cost - $55.00 - Please make sure that your USA Lacrosse Membership is valid throughout the entire lacrosse season...through - May 31, 2023. If it will expire anytime during the season, you MUST renew it now. 
    
2. NCSI Required Background Check, receive “Green Light” – Background checks are valid for two years. If you completed the NCSI background check in 2023, you will not be required to complete another one until the 2025 season.  There is NO COST to coach members – a complementary background screening is part of your USA Lacrosse membership.

To complete the screening, log into your USA Lacrosse member account and complete the following steps

• On My Account page, click Menu
   
• Next, select the third option in the dropdown menu - Background Check
   
• You will be redirected to a background check information page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Start Background Check.
   
• Complete the background check form and submit the screening.

Please be sure to have the following items available: 

1.   Government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.);

2.   List of addresses lived at over the past five years;

3.   Social security number.

NOTE:  it can take 2-3 weeks to receive your background check results, so please do not wait until the last minute to complete.

Complete On-line Courses - Online courses are available at myaccount.usalacrosse.com (click on e-learning from the toolbar on the left-hand side).

3. Complete a FREE USA Lacrosse - Level I Fundamentals of Coaching Lacrosse Online Curriculum includes the “Developing the Individual Athlete online course”
    
4. Athlete-Centered Coaching Virtual Workshop – Cost $35.00
5. How to Coach Kids Online Course (non-game specific) - FREE
6. Women’s Game Coaches ONLY:  Safe & Legal Defense On-line Course - FREE

Other requirements:

1. Register & Complete the NFHS/CDC Concussion in Sports online - FREE
2. The online abuse prevention training is provided through Abuse Prevention Systems. While the training is FREE, it does require a login through USA Lacrosse 

The earlier you register with NVLS, the NVLS Registrar will e-mail you advising you of what training/requirements you need and provide you with the appropriate links and other needed information. NOTE:  USA Lacrosse Members can see what courses they have completed when they login to their USA Lacrosse account and click on: “My Certification & Training Information.”
